MARINO PARISH SUNDAY NEWSLETTER

St. Vincent De Paul Parish       5th  February 2012    Fifth  Sunday in Ordinary Time

 
Posture during the Mass -This week-end we will continue to bring about some uniformity in relation to our posture during the Mass.  The refocus on the posture is to attempt to create a prayerful atmosphere where our posture reflects the prayer elements and message of the Mass.  Leadership and direction will be given from the priest celebrating the Mass.

First Sunday - today is the first Sunday of the month and Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament will take place from 3.00 – 5.00 p.m.

World Day of The Sick – Saturday 11th February is The Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes and World Day of The Sick. Anointing of the Sick will take place during the 7.30 p.m. Saturday evening Mass.

Croí Nua – A programme towards renewal for Adults who are seeking to move forward into deeper & more informed faith. The programme consists of 8 group gatherings based around thematic reflective readings. It starts tomorrow, Monday 6th February @ 10.30 a.m. in Marino Room. More info. on Notice Board

Weekly Eucharistic Adoration – To give glory to God and in preparation for our Eucharistic Congress in June we will hold a weekly Eucharistic Adoration Holy Hour, in SILENCE, from  3 – 4 p.m. in our Parish Church running each Thursday until the Congress begins in June – Welcome to all.

Bookings to attend the 50th International Eucharistic Congress are live on www.iec2012.ie  you can book for 7 days, for 3 days or for a single day. Lectio Divina Group - meetings will continue every Monday night at 8.00 p.m. (Sacristy side). You are all most welcome


Atonement – A Day of Atonement will take place on Saturday 31st March in Clonfert, Co. Galway with Frances Hogan and Eddie Stone. Cost €15. For further information and to book a seat on the coach, contact Miriam at 087-9024541 / Lorraine at 086-3900073. Book early to avoid disappointment

Accord – The Annual Collection of Accord will be made next week-end 11th/12th February – The collection will replace the usual Share Collection      
Prayer Meetings: Mondays at 8.00 p.m. in Rosmini Church  - Prayer, Praise and Sharing Scripture – All are welcome                                                                                                        

Christmas Dues – Offerings of Christmas dues are being gratefully received and will be individually acknowledged in due course.


Church Repository/Shop: The Church Repository/ Shop is now open every Tuesday and Thursday morning after 10.00 a.m. Mass and after 11.00 a.m. Mass on Sundays.  At present there is a nice selection of cards and gifts for Confirmation and all occasions available.  The new Sunday Missal is also available in the repository.

Parish Lotto
There was no winner of the Parish Lotto Jackpot.          
The winning numbers were: 7, 8, 11, & 14. 
The jackpot now stands at €2,500.                            
Lotto envelopes are available in “The Marino News” (C & T), Philipsburgh Ave., and Marino Credit Union, Griffith Ave, and are collected every Monday.

Finance Committee: The Finance Committee thank you for your contribution to the Family Offering Collection €975.00. This collection is for the day to day running of the Parish e.g. wages, light, heat, insurance and for the maintenance of Parish buildings.
